Families Forward Health Fair, Saturday, August 13

Milwaukee, WI (Aug. 14, 2016)—Lamb of God Baptist Church, in honor of 60 years of service to the community, hosted a Families Forward Health Fair on August 13, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The first of its kind held by Lamb of God, the health fair was uniquely designed to engage the entire family with basic health information, services, giveaways, food and fun.

Free and open to the public, the health fair took place on the Lamb of God campus, 8415 W. Bradley Road in Milwaukee. Over 15 information booths were present featuring free blood pressure checks, clinical breast exams, preventative cancer care consultations, live Zumba sessions and a blood donation center. Children from the community were actively engaged in face painting, fire safety demonstrations with Milwaukee Fire Department’s Survive Alive House, and the popular Mickey Mouse themed bouncy house.

Lamb of God’s Nurses Ministry collaborated with community partners to make the fair a success, including: BloodCenter of Wisconsin,  Milwaukee Fire Department, Froedtert Health, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Milwaukee Health Department, UW-Milwaukee College of Nurses, Wisconsin Pink Shawl Breast Cancer Initiative, Molina Healthcare, Next Door Foundation and multiple other community care organizations.
